Faffalot Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. Who we are
Faffalot is provided by Faffalot Designs Ltd, a company registered in Scotland.
Company number: SC891783
Registered office: 3 Queen Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 1JE
Contact: fiona@faffalot.com
This policy covers the free Faffalot app and enquiries you send us about it. It does not cover Faffalot Plus, Faffalot Shower or general browsing of our website.
2. Information stored on your device
Faffalot stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device. This includes your tasks, routines, preferences, optional display name and locally recorded progress.
We do not receive or have remote access to your tasks, routines, display name or progress. Faffalot does not provide a cloud database of that content.
You do not need to create a Faffalot account or provide an email address to use the app.
“Faffalytics” displays progress using locally stored information. This does not give us access to your task history.
3. Payments and marketing
Faffalot is free and has no subscription payments. Faffalot Plus is a separate app with its own subscription arrangements and privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information, use your task content for advertising or add you to an email marketing list.
4. Reminders and notifications
If you enable routine reminders, notifications may appear on your device or linked devices, depending on your settings.
You can control notification permissions and lock-screen previews through your device’s Settings. Reminder preferences can also be managed using the controls available within Faffalot.
Information displayed in a notification may be visible to someone who can see your screen.
5. Apple services and device backups
Apple may process information in connection with App Store downloads, device diagnostics and, if you use a test version, TestFlight. Depending on the service and your settings, Apple may provide us with app statistics, diagnostics or feedback.
These platform services are separate from the tasks and routines stored within Faffalot.
You can review Apple’s diagnostic-sharing settings under:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements
Apple’s privacy information is available at:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
TestFlight privacy information is available at:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/test-flight/
Faffalot does not provide its own cloud synchronisation service. Depending on your device settings, local app information may be included in device backups. Those backups are managed through your device or backup provider, rather than by Faffalot Designs Ltd.
6. If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include, such as your name, message or screenshots. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed to explain your enquiry.
Faffalot Designs Ltd is the data controller for support correspondence. We use it to answer questions, resolve problems and handle complaints.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing support and maintaining the app, while respecting your privacy. Where necessary, we also process information to meet legal obligations.
Our email provider processes correspondence to deliver and store emails on our behalf. Depending on its hosting arrangements, this may involve processing outside the UK. Where information is transferred on our behalf, we are responsible for ensuring applicable transfer requirements are met.
We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry, related follow-up, complaints and legal requirements. We review whether it remains necessary and delete it when it is no longer required.
Contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
7. Removing locally stored information
You can edit or remove tasks and routines using the controls available within the app.
Deleting the app generally removes its ordinary local app storage. Apple’s “Offload App” option may retain app data. Copies in device backups, and any information held in device secure storage, may remain separately.
Please keep a separate copy of important information before deleting the app, resetting your device or changing phones.
We cannot remotely retrieve or delete your tasks and routines. Backup copies must be managed through your device or backup provider.
Deleting the app does not remove correspondence you have separately emailed to us.
8. Children
The app does not require children to create a Faffalot account or send us a name or email address. The same local-storage arrangements apply regardless of age.
A parent or guardian can contact us with privacy concerns. If a child sends personal information through a support enquiry, we use only what is necessary to handle it and remove unnecessary information.
9. Your data protection rights
For personal information we hold, such as support correspondence, you may have rights to:
Access your personal information.
Correct inaccurate information.
Request deletion.
Restrict processing.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Receive or transfer certain information where applicable.
These rights depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
To make a request, email fiona@faffalot.com. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions. We may need to verify your request proportionately.
You can also complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office:
https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/
10. Changes to this policy
If our information-handling practices change, we will update this policy and its date. We will bring material changes to your attention through the app where appropriate and obtain consent where required.
