Faffalot Shower Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
1. Who we are
Faffalot Shower is provided by Faffalot Designs Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”), a limited company registered in Scotland.
Company number: SC891783
Registered office: 3 Queen Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 1JE
Email: fiona@faffalot.com
Website: https://www.faffalot.com
These terms apply to Faffalot Shower. Faffalot and Faffalot Plus are separate apps with their own terms.
Please read these terms before using the app. By using Faffalot Shower, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
For the version downloaded from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement also applies:
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
These terms supplement that licence and do not replace it. Nothing in these terms reduces rights that cannot legally be excluded.
2. What the app provides
Faffalot Shower is a free guided shower-routine app. It provides prompts and pacing to help you follow your chosen shower steps. It does not require a paid subscription. Using it does not subscribe you to Faffalot Plus.
You choose your routine, steps and timings. They are suggestions to support your routine, not instructions to rush or continue an activity that feels uncomfortable or unsafe. You can pause or stop your routine whenever necessary.
Results vary between users. The app does not guarantee a particular shower duration or outcome.
3. Using your device safely
Keep the device outside the shower enclosure, away from water, splashes and excessive moisture. Set up the app before entering the shower, and place the device securely where it cannot fall into water.
Do not handle the device with wet hands or reach for it if doing so creates a risk of slipping or falling. Do not use a charging device or connected mains-powered equipment in or near the shower or bath. Follow the device manufacturer's safety guidance, including guidance on moisture, charging and operating temperatures.
Do not rely on a device's water-resistance rating as permission to use it in the shower. Stop using the device if conditions are unsafe.
The app's prompts do not monitor water temperature, your physical safety or the condition of your device.
4. Health and personal care
Faffalot Shower is a routine-support tool, not a medical service. It does not diagnose or treat ADHD, autism or any other condition, and it does not replace advice from a healthcare professional.
Adapt your routine to your needs. Follow relevant healthcare advice and the instructions for products you use. A prompt to move to the next step does not mean you should stop a medically necessary activity or skip essential care.
If you need help to shower safely, use appropriate assistance rather than relying on the app alone.
5. Children and younger users
Children should use the app with appropriate guidance and supervision from a parent or guardian, including help with safe device placement and suitable routine settings.
If a user is not old enough to agree to these terms under applicable law, a parent or guardian should review them and oversee use. Apple's rules for downloading and using apps also apply.
The App Store age rating describes the app's content; it does not replace supervision or determine whether someone can enter into a legal agreement.
6. Using the app fairly and ownership
You may use Faffalot Shower for your personal routines in accordance with these terms, the applicable app licence and the law.
Please do not deliberately damage or disrupt the app, use it unlawfully, or infringe someone else's rights. Restrictions on copying, modifying or reverse engineering the software are subject to exceptions permitted by law and applicable open-source licences.
We own or license the app's software, design and branding. You retain ownership of any custom routine content you create. Downloading the app permits you to use the software under its licence; it does not transfer ownership of it.
You may stop using the app at any time.
7. Settings, content and privacy
Your shower configuration and progress are stored locally on your device. Faffalot Shower does not provide its own cloud account or synchronisation service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, including information you choose to send us for support:
https://www.faffalot.com/faffalot-shower-privacy
Deleting the app, resetting a device or changing phones may cause loss of locally stored settings or progress. Device backups may help, depending on your settings, but we cannot guarantee that they will restore your content. Keep a separate copy of any settings you want to retain.
These practical limitations do not exclude any responsibility we have under applicable law for loss caused by our fault.
8. Updates and availability
We aim to keep the app working reliably. You may need a compatible device, a supported operating system and an up-to-date app version.
Prompts and pacing may be affected by device settings, interruptions, the app being placed in the background or operating-system behaviour. The app does not guarantee that every prompt will be delivered or noticed.
We may make reasonable changes to improve the app, fix problems, maintain security or comply with law. We will provide any updates required by applicable law.
For changes that materially affect use, or if we discontinue the app, we will give reasonable advance notice through the app or our website where practicable.
We do not promise uninterrupted or completely error-free operation. This does not remove our obligations under applicable law.
9. Our responsibility
If we breach these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence or was reasonably contemplated when the agreement was made.
The app is supplied for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses such as lost business profits, lost business opportunities or interruption to a business.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, damage to devices or other digital content where the law makes us responsible, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
The safety guidance in these terms explains how to use the app safely. It does not remove our legal responsibilities or your legal rights.
Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights that apply to you. The fact that the app is free does not remove protections that apply under the law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in law or the app. We will publish the updated terms with a new date and bring material changes to your attention through the app, with reasonable advance notice where practicable.
Changes will not apply retrospectively or remove rights you already have. Where a change requires your express agreement, we will obtain it. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the app.
11. Applicable law and resolving concerns
These terms are governed by Scots law. If you live outside Scotland, you retain any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
If you have any questions or concerns about Faffalot, please contact me at fiona@faffalot.com. I'll do my best to help resolve any issues fairly and promptly.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights, including your rights under applicable law to seek a remedy.
